Descent II review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Descent II for PC developed by Paralax Software and published by Interplay. Descent II, sequel to 1994's Descent, was developed by Parallax and published by Interplay in 1996. It featured the same type of gameplay as found in Descent, with one or two improvements. The levels are even more complex than the first game's. A new character named guide bot was introduced - essentially he helped look for keys, reactors, and certain doors. You could also upgrade your ship with an afterburner which allowed for short bursts of increased speed.
