Khan supporters allege vote rigging

Hundreds of supporters of Imran Khan, the former Pakistani cricketer turned politician, say the national election earlier this month was rigged.

Holding signs and waving party flags, demonstrators marched through the streets chanting 'we will protest'.

The May 11th election saw former Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif make a triumphant comeback- but for parties who did not fare well, like Khan's, claims of vote rigging are rampant.

Khan, who is recovering from an injury incurred while campaigning, spoke to supporters via video link from his home in Lahore.

Today we are protesting peacefully, he said. But if our voice is not heard, these protests can become ugly.

Khan and his party supporters have vowed to continue demonstrating until the the election commission grants recounts in 25 constituencies.
