‘Fairlight’ is the new single from Eugene McGuinness. Following the release of The Invitation to the Voyage in August last year, this is the first material to be released since. Whether it’s a sign of things to come or not, we’ll have to wait and see.
‘Fairlight’ marks a departure from The Invitation to the Voyage and allows more of producer Dan Carey’s experimental recording techniques and psychedelic krautrock and post-rock influences to come through to the fore. The result is a spacey, shimmering tower of sound with a swell of guitars, hypnotic, Arabian-inspired piano and a brilliant vocal performance from Eugene.
