Day three in the corruption trial of Bo Xilai

On day three of the dramatic trial of ousted Chinese politician Bo Xilai - the former rising star of the Chinese Communist Party says he shamed his country - but denies helping his wife who convicted of murder.
Now facing charges of corruption, taking bribes and abuse of power, Bo had been the Communist Party chief in the city of Chongqing - until he was removed last year - in a scandal involving his wife - Gu Kailai - that griped the country.
Gu was accused and later convicted of murdering British businessman Neil Heywood in November of 2011. Bo's former police chief Wang Lijun has been jailed for trying to cover up the case.
On Saturday, Wang - who at one point fled to a nearby U.S. consulate - took the stand.
Sources have said Bo was furious with his deputy when Wang told him that his wife was a murder suspect. Allegedly, Bo fired him without having the party authority to do so - and leading to an abuse of power charge.
Bo's trial will resume on Sunday.
