Animation celebrates Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'

It's arguably one of the most famous albums in rock.

But even now Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of The Moon is exploring new territory.

To mark the record's 40th anniversary, legendary British playright Tom Stoppard's written a radio drama inspired by the Floyd music and the play has had this promotional animation made too.

BBC Radio 2 and Aardman Animations teamed up to make the short film - which is part of a series of promotions for the UK national radio station's drama 'Darkside'.

The film uses images and dialogue from the play, which touches on themes of greed, conflict and consumption.

The Dark Side Of The Moon spent a total of 741 weeks between 1973 and 1988 on the U.S. album chart.

That's as well as 30 years on the UK's.
