In pretty much every other platformer under the sun, you try to avoid getting hit. Damage is bad. Tends to lead to death. But Wario's big and burly and it's gonna take more than a few knocks to shuffle him off this mortal coil... despite the fact that he can get incinerated, inflated, donut-ed, squashed (leafy style), squashed (spring style), zombified... Wario's got a tough time of it, especially if he wants to escape this strange music-box alive.
