Music has always been considered good for the soul, but a research team is saying they’ve found it’s good for the heart as well.

Their study showed that music can make the heart stronger.

According to the cardiologists responsible for the findings no specific type of tune is best, and each person’s favorites will do just fine.

How it does its magic is by sparking blood vessel linings to change on a biological level resulting in a diminished risk for heart disease.

Results are best if you’re moving along with the tune. Grooving to the music will yield significantly better results than moving in silence.

The discovery came through the observation of three groups of participants.

Some were enrolled in exercise groups; others both exercised and listened to music for 30 minutes per day; and the rest only listened to the same amount of music.

Researchers found that those who were listening to their favorite tunes while following the fitness program greatly improved critical aspects of their heart function.

They also increased their exercise endurance by almost 40 percent.

Music alone yielded a 19 percent increase in endurance while exercise alone only 29 percent.
