Lebron and the Heat spoil Rose's return

The NBA season opened yesterday with the defending champion Miami Heat defeating the Chicago Bulls 107-95 down at American Airlines Arena down in Miami.

It was Derrick Rose's return, but Miami wasn't having any of that. During a pregame ceremony, Miami was presented their championship rings and raised their third championship banner. During the ceremony, the Bulls stayed in their locker room.

Yesterday was Rose's first game back after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the 2012 playoffs. Before the game, Rose even got a shout-out from President Obama over Twitter.

Lebron had 18 points, eight assists, and six boards for Miami. The Flash dropped in 13, while the human dinosaur scored 16 points. Old man Ray Allen was good for 11. The Heat had seven players score in double figures.

Rose ended the game with 12 points on 4 of 15 shooting. Boozer played big for Chicago with 31 points and seven rebounds.

The Heat were cruising during the first half. The Bulls got into early foul trouble and had to sit forward Luol Deng and guards Jimmy Butler and Kirk Hinrich. The Heat defense also played well holding the Bulls to only 42% shooting from the field.

The Bulls came back strong in the second half led by Boozer and Butler. Chicago was able to cut the Heat's fourth-quarter lead to eight points, but a Battier three-pointer gave the Heat a 100-89 lead with 1:33 to play.

The player of the night was definitely Chris Bosh though. Bosh was able to video bomb not one, but two interviews at the end of the game, first Wade and then James.
