Can latest 'Call of Duty' overtake GTA's blockbuster opening?

It is a shoot ‘em up computer game, but the battle is not on the screen but in the shops, between ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ – which was just launched – and the blockbuster Grand Theft Auto V which sold $800 million (600 million euros) worth on the first day it was released.
Trying to break that record stores worldwide opened at midnight to sell COD – as the gamers call it.
It will be a few days before the sales numbers are released, but even if it didn’t beat GTA V on day one, the makers of ‘Call of Duty’ Activision can expect to match previous editions which each sold more than 20 million copies.
