British royals attend charity reception in Mumbai

STORY: Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall attended a dinner reception in Mumbai on Saturday, in an event celebrating the work of the British Asian Trust.

The charity was founded at the instigation of Prince Charles and by British Asian business leaders in 2007, and has since raised money to help millions of disadvantaged people across the Indian subcontinent.

Addressing the gathering, Prince Charles said the links between India and the U.K. were long-standing.

"I must have come to India probably 40 years ago and I will never forget the impression that that first visit made on me. So I'm afraid I developed a particular interest and love and indeed passion for this part of the world and, you know better than I, that both countries have given each other a great deal over all these years," he said.
