Osaka woman starved to death, found in closet!

A partially mummified female corpse was found in an Osaka housing complex. The dead body is suspected to be that of Miyuki Hurukawa, a 31-year-old homeowner who died of starvation. The deceased female is said to have lived with her 65-year-old mother in the complex, located in the Higashiyodogawa ward of Osaka City.

When the building manager visited her home with a city official in mid-October, they discovered her weak mother immobilized on the floor. The mother was immediately taken to a hospital and remains hospitalised.

Since nobody could reach the daughter, this Monday morning, her brother-in-law went to her flat and discovered the woman's body in the closet of an interior room. Her body was found without any visible injuries but had begun rotting. She is estimated to have been dead for one month.

Police are treating the case as death by starvation, since they could hardly find any food left in the flat as well as the gas and electricity supply having been cut off. Therefore, police are asking for a postmortem to closely look into the cause of her death.
