ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)

A rare, intense winter storm covered the Golan Heights, Jerusalem and Ramallah with snow on Sunday (December 15) choking off hills and causing damages in vehicles and electricity.

Israeli authorities said at least 50 centimeters (20 inches) fell since Thursday (December 13).

In the Golan Heights, the tensed border with Syria was covered with snow, as United Nations vehicles were still monitoring the crossing.

The extent of the storm overburdened rescue services, and the Israeli military helped police to open roads and fix the damages.

All highways which were shut down during the storm, are functioning again.
