Factory workers killed in Cambodia in clashes with police

In Cambodia, military police have opened fire on protesters calling for higher wages for clothing factory workers.
Five people are now reported to have been killed in Friday’s clashes in the capital Phnom Penh.
The violence erupted as workers across Cambodia went on national strike demanding an increase in the country’s minimum wage.
Several demonstrators were badly injured in the crackdown which appeared to show the use of live rounds by the authorities.
Security forces say officers stepped in to break up the protest after coming under attack from rocks, Molotov cocktails and other projectiles.
The latest industrial unrest comes off the back of weeks of demonstrations calling on Cambodia’s prime minister to step down.
