Turkey dismisses hundreds of police amid corruption scandal

Hundreds of police officers have been removed from their posts in the Turkish capital Ankara.
The shake up is the biggest so far since a corruption scandal rocked the government last month.
In total, 350 officers were reportedly relieved of their duties.
The latest crackdown in the capital follows a similar purge across the rest of the country. Hundreds of police in Turkey have either been dismissed or reassigned following the corruption probe. Three cabinet ministers have also lost their jobs.
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s government has struggled to contain the political fallout. The scandal has prompted a series of anti-government protests across Turkey.
