In this guitar lesson, Cameron will teach you another cool tapping lick in the style of the great Eddie Van Halen.
Edward Lodewijk "Eddie" Van Halen was born in January 26 of 1955. He is a Dutch-born American musician and producer, but he is known as the lead guitarist, keyboardist and
co-founder of the hard rock band Van Halen. He is also considered one of the world's greatest guitarists of all times.
Some people says that he was the inventor of the tapping technique, the true is that it´s not clear who was the first that came up with this innovative way of playing the guitar. Anyway, everyone knows that Eddie was the one who make this technique popular...
Basically, tapping is like having the chance to have more than 4 fingers on the fretboard, so this way you can play more wide and crazy stuff.
Also it is important that you come up with your own ideas, which is the best advice for starting to find `your´ unique sound and style.
Alright, that is all for today... Anyway I suggest that you keep enjoying and learning from Jon MacLennan and all the staff at Guitarcontrol.com! Where? In our free guitar lessons at www.youtube.com/guitarcontrol
