7 Grand Steps, Step 1: What Ancients Begat is... a heck of a title. It's easier to talk about that than begin to explain this game, but I'll try: A strange, mechanical board game allows you to control the fates of an ancient family, as they raise their children, get by in life, discover new technologies, perform heroic acts, advance socially, and eventually die out, to be replaced by their progeny, who raise their own children, get by in... you get the point. And it's all driven by tokens and ingots and wheels and slips of paper and the fear of being eaten by crocodiles.
