Crimea a sovereign state: Russia

Political tensions between Russia and the West are showing no signs of slowing down with US and EU announcing sanctions againt the Kremlin after Crimeans voted to secede from Ukraine. But in a clear dare to the west, Vladmir Putin turned a blind eye to the warnings and signed a decree recognising Crimea as a sovereign state. This is likely to pave way for a possible annexation, which will only worsen the political crisis further.
