World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck for the SEGA Genesis developed and published by SEGA.

World-famous magicians Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck are preparing for a magic show when suddenly, they find a strange box in the backstage area. Because every video game needs a plot device, the renowned duo open the box and are suddenly transported to a bizarre magic world. Might need a raincheck on that magic show, huh? World of Illusion follows the 1990 release Castle of Illusion, a game widely considered the best Mickey Mouse game in history. And even though that’s a large pair of ears to fill, World of Illusion is also a classic in its own right. This beautiful platformer features a surreal art style typical of the Illusion games, as well as the same solid platforming mechanics. Yet this one is also its own game, as it trades the traditional stomping mechanic for a magic cape that transforms enemies into less-threatening things. World of Illusion features single-player play, as well as local multiplayer.

This video review features video gameplay footage of World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck for the SEGA Genesis and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
