IconFinder.com is a search engine for free icons. This site is great for web designers and developers looking for new images or fresh looking icons for their website. These icons are also good for putting into PowerPoint presentations or blog posts. Every icon is available for download as a PNG or ICO file.

To use IconFinder, you don't need to create an account. To find an icon, you can either use the browse option in the bar at the top of the screen, or use the search bar.

For browsing, click "browse", and then choose the appropriate option. For instance, you can search for icons by relevant tag words by clicking "tags", here you can click any of the words listed to find icons. Let's go back to the main search page.

Let's say we want an icon image of a cloud to put on our blog. Just type in the word and click search. A page of results will show all of the cloud icons. To get more perspective on how icons look, you can choose to display them on either a white, black, or tiled background. You can also scale the icons to be smaller or larger by sliding the pixel bar at the top of the screen.

If you click an icon, a window will show that gives you extra information, including other sizes of the icon that are available. To download it, just click the appropriate blue button.
