THE DRAGON-FIST CONNECTION part 1

Kung Fu comedy spoof about the Dragon-Fist Clan being hunted down for reasons unknown by the mysterious Master Nada. Can the surviving members of the clan take him down before they before the NOT surviving members?? Only your viewing patience will provide the answers.
In the year 2000, I maxed out all of my credit cards to shoot a kung fu spoof on video from a script that I wrote in a month. It's a "short film" that ran too long because apparently I wasn't much of an editor...
This was shot in and around Asbury Park, NJ and Brooklyn, NY.
It took five days to shoot on $3500 in cash and favors called in to friends for help. After principals, I'd go to my TV job six hours early every night and edit the piece on their machines before going to work. This went on for a couple weeks with the help of my friend Dante.
There were two scripts 1. voice-over dialogue to be done after editing by a friend's friend name Tara and Paul Caroul, an actor in the movie. 2. jibberish dialogue with every sentence perfectly matched in length to the voice-over dialogue. In this way, the mouths wouldn't match the dubbed-in words added later - in true Kung Fu movie style.
If I were to do it again, I'd do it better obviously. There are some elements of sound that I'm not happy with and we mistakenly degraded the digital material by running it through analog routers during editing. It contains some humor that I'd take out too. Also, I'm better at shooting fight scenes now. But it is what it is and we had a lot of fun making it happen.
