TaleSpin review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of TaleSpin for the Game Boy developed and published by Capcom.

Admittedly, the Seaduck doesn’t sound like a very impressive aircraft, but TaleSpin’s tiny yellow airplane was actually kind of groundbreaking. Even on the Game Boy. Better known as being one of Capcom’s many classic Disney games for the NES, TaleSpin was also released for the Game Boy. And like other Capcom games that made the move, much of the NES experience remains in tact. TaleSpin is a side-scrolling flight game, a departure from Capcom’s typical Disney platformers. You control Baloo as he drives his plane and fights enemies. Although, for the most part, you’re avoiding enemies—Baloo can only shoot one bullet at a time. This forces you to play the game differently than you would most side-scrolling flight games/SHMUPs. TaleSpin was also groundbreaking for allowing players to fly backward, scrolling the screen back to the left. TaleSpin is a single-player game on the Game Boy.

This video review features video gameplay footage of TaleSpin for the Game Boy and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
