Finishing line in sight in India's marathon election

India’s marathon general election is finally drawing to a close after voting in Varanasi.

Forty one seats are up for grabs in Utter Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.

The nine-phase ballot began on May 7 with the count due to take place on May 16.

Opposition BJP’s leader Narendra Modi is leading in the polls.

As many as 814 million people are eligible to vote in India.
