Dunya News-Paralysed woman walks with robotic skeleton

A UK woman who was told she would never walk again has defied her prognosis, thanks to a new robotic skeleton.

Paralysed in a car crash 10 years ago, Sophie Morgan is overjoyed to be back on her feet again.

"It's quite overwhelming," she says.

For now, Sophie spends around 30 minutes a day in the robot harness, but that will increase over time.

The health befits are many; her organs get more space and she can stretch out muscles and ligaments.

Ms Morgan says the new technology makes her optimistic about the future

"In time, like all technology, it will get smaller and lighter and faster.

"The dream would be to have the exoskeleton on under my jeans."
