Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Wolfenstein: The New Order for the PlayStation 3 developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks. Welcome back to Castle Wolfenstein, where one of gaming’s most legendary shooters becomes one of 2014’s best. Wolfenstein: The New Order is an old-school shooter at heart, but it’s also been wrapped in surprisingly modern wrapping paper. It can be hard for old-school games to find current relevance, but Wolfenstein does it by modernizing only where it needs to. BJ Blazkowicz has never been a more fleshed out and fully realized character, and in addition, the game world is absolutely engrossing. The New Order asks the question, “What if the Nazis won?” BJ finds himself in a very different world, and the only way to change it is to dual-wield some assault rifles. The game features single-player play. One of 2014’s most celebrated shooters, old is new again in Wolfenstein: The New Order. This video review features video gameplay footage of Wolfenstein: The New Order for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
