Rolling Stones band members visit Jerusalem holy site

Rolling Stones band members Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts visited Jerusalem's Western Wall Tuesday (June 3), ahead of a first-ever concert scheduled for Tel Aviv. Accompanied by bodyguards and surrounded by fans and paparazzi, the two long-time stones band members autographed albums for an avid fan before they were whisked away in black vehicles with heavily-tinted windows. Presumably, they were given a tour of a tunnel that runs underground alongside the Western Wall, a site holy to Jews who believe it to be the last standing remnant of their ancient temple. The wall borders the Haram Al-Sharif compound which is holy to Muslims, houses the Al-Aqsa mosque and is known to Jews as the Temple Mount. The Rolling Stones resumed their world tour last week in Oslo, more than two months after the suicide of singer Mick Jagger's girlfriend L'Wren Scott.
