XGRA: Extreme-G Racing Association review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of XGRA: Extreme-G Racing Association for the PlayStation 2 developed and published by Acclaim.

When Acclaim went bankrupt, it meant this would probably be the last race for the Extreme-G series. Fortunately, it was a good one. XGRA: Extreme-G Racing Association offers its own twist on the blistering-fast racing of Nintendo’s F-Zero and the Wipeout series. Players race futuristic bikes on futuristic tracks in a futuristic world. Did we mention it’s futuristic? The game offers individual races and a career mode for single-player play, as well as some local multiplayer options. XGRA’s most enjoyable attribute is its weapon system, which forces players to make decisions about which ones to use and when to use them. The lack of originality is obvious, but as an alternative to two unique franchises, XGRA absolutely delivers.

This video review features video gameplay footage of XGRA: Extreme-G Racing Association for the PlayStation 2 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
