Dead parrot honors Monty Python

A giant blue dead parrot was trucked across London on Monday and found itself lying on its back outside the iconic Tower Bridge.

The sculpture is an homage to Monty Python's 'Norwegian Blue' parrot, which was first screened 45 years ago and was recently voted the British comedy troupe's funniest sketch.

The giant dead parrot was unveiled to mark the screening of Monty Python's final show of their ten day residency at London's O2 Arena, which could be the last time the boys perform together.

The 'Norwegian Blue' parrot, which measures nearly 50 feet from head to tail, was commissioned by UKTV's Gold channel which is broadcasting the final show live on July 20th.
