On Friday, July 25th forty-two ships and submarines, which were all representing 15 partner nations got together for what is called ‘The world's largest naval exercise.’ The crafts united to cruise across the ocean in close formation for the Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2014.

The crafts united to cruise across the ocean in close formation for the Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2014. The end result is a beautiful and impressive lineup of ships and subs gracing the water’s surface.
38 ships of varying sizes took part in the event in addition to four submarines. A helicopter soared above the crafts as they cruised across the sea.
There were 7 lines total, all travelling at the same speed and keeping a perfect formation.
The maritime exercise is put on every two years near the Hawaiian islands by the Commander of the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Fleet. This year makes it the 24th time Rim of the Pacific has been held. The first event kicked off in 1971.
The 37-day series of exercises includes 49 surface ships, 6 submarines, 25,000 personnel from over 20 nations and 200 aircraft. Rim of the Pacific 2014 is scheduled to end on August 1st.
