Ukrainian forces gear up in the east.

The video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters comes amid reports that nine people were killed in the region Sunday.

The army sets up check points, digs trenches and fire at what is said to be a separatist target..

This comes as those in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk prepare for a siege by Ukrainian forces determined to gain control.

They're stocking up with flour and canned goods they hope will hold them over.

Some residents say they have nowhere to run.
