Colour changing ice-cream, invented by the Spanish physicist and chemical engineer Manuel Linares, took the Catalan beach-city of Blanes by storm, Wednesday, as tourists and locals lapped up the peculiar treat.
The blue ice-cream named 'Xamaleon' comes as a 'tutti frutti' flavour and changes to the colour of pink due to a chemical reaction with the acidity and temperature of saliva. Linares says his secret lies with a 'love elixir' that is sprayed on the ice-cream before it is served. Due to the spray pending patent, the process could not be filmed.
Linares' next project is an aphrodisiac ice-cream called 'Xaman' that will apparently make women scream in bed: "stop, stop, stop! I can't take any more" after men eat it.
