Riots, looting erupt after fatal shooting of unarmed black teen

Chaos erupts in Ferguson, Missouri overnight following the death of an unarmed black teen shot by a police officer.

Looters ransanked stores and angry protesters ran through the streets.

This tire store was one of several businesses that were broken into.

People taking tires, hubcaps, and car rims.

Protesters faced off against police in riot gear.

Dozens were arrested.

SOUNDBITE: ST. LOUIS COUNTY BRIAN SCHELLMAN, SAYING:

"Our helicopter got shot at at least once, we think two or three times, there was probably many other police officers who were shot at and luckily for us no one was seriously injured."

The violence broke out after thousands gathered at a vigil for the shooting victim 18-year-old Michael Brown.
