A 111-year-old male in Japan has been named ‘the world's oldest living man.’ Sakari Momoi was born on February 5, 1903, in Fukushima prefecture.

He became a teacher while living there and later moved to Saitama. In that city he served as a high school principal until his retirement.
Momoi has taken the place of the former record holder from New York, Alexander Imich who passed away this past June at the age of 111. On Wednesday, Momoi received the certificate from Guinness World Records deeming him the earth’s oldest living man.
At the ceremony, he was all dressed up, wearing a dark colored suit and silver tie. At one point, he actually got out of his wheelchair and moved to another nearby seat with only a little bit of help.
When he was asked what he thought about the record, Momoi made it clear he wants to live longer. His hope is to stay alive on this planet for another 2 years.
Momoi doesn’t have any specific tips for longevity, but his caretakers say he eats healthy and gets up early each day.
He has five kids and spends his days in a Tokyo nursing home.
