Pakistan People’s Party’s leader Senator Rehman Malik called MQM’s International Secretariat and talked to Mr Hussain. The two leaders discussed the overall political situation of the country, devastation caused by torrential rains and floods and other issues.

Mr Malik thanked Mr Hussain for withdrawing the resignation letters of MQM members of the National Assembly. He termed it a good decision. He added that political crisis could have deepened if MQM had not taken the decision to withdraw resignations.

He praised the efforts of Mr Hussain to end the political crisis. He formally extended an invitation to MQM to take part in the dialogue process with the parties which were staging sit-ins.

Mr Hussain told him that he was making efforts from the beginning that political crisis should be resolved through dialogue.

“Our armed forces are busy in the toughest and most difficult war of their history. Tension is rising on borders. Torrential rains and floods have caused large-scale deaths and devastation. Internal and external challenges faced by the country demand that the government and the opposition should demonstrate wisdom and try to resolve the political crisis through dialogue.” Mr. Hussain said.

Mr. Hussain has made an appeal to the Sindh Government to take effective measures to protect valuable lives from torrential rains and floods.
