Thousands of eager ale lovers flooded Munich on Friday morning for the opening of Germany's Oktoberfest 2014.
Queuing kicked off from 5:00 CET, with hundreds of predominantly young visitors anticipating the start of the annual beer swilling, sausage eating, festive flirting booze fest.
This year's event is the 181st Oktoberfest and the organisers expect to beat last year's record of more than 6.4 million visitors.
