Three Afghan Soldiers Reported Missing In MA Have Been Found

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick recently announced that 3 senior Afghan soldiers were missing. Authorities have since located them.
Three Afghan soldiers have been located and apprehended while they were reportedly trying to cross into Canada from the US.
On September 11th, the military officials from the Afghan National Army arrived at Camp Edwards in Cape Cod to partake in a two week joint training exercise with over 200 attendants from six nations.
This past weekend, however, the three soldiers went missing. They didn’t return or report back to the training base.
Reportedly, the men had gone to a shopping complex after leaving the base.
Officials from the Massachusetts National Guard had said the soldiers were no threat to the general public. It’s suspected they might have been attempting to defect.
Massachusetts National Guard spokesman Lieutenant Colonel James Sahady explained the men, aged 48, 20 and 18 were permitted to leave the grounds if they pleased, so long as they were off duty.
Security Analyst Ed Davis did point out one particular issue, however. He remarked “The only cause for concern is the fact that there have been Afghan soldiers who have turned on their United States counterparts and I’m sure that’s on most of the minds of the people doing the investigation.”
