Creepy looking clowns have been spotted after dark around Wasco and Bakersfield, California, just in time to get some of the locals in the Halloween spirit.
What is it about clowns that seem to get people on the edge?
Creepy looking clowns have been spotted after dark around Wasco and Bakersfield, California, just in time to get some of the locals in the Halloween spirit.
One took to social media websites like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook roaming the streets of towns like Wasco at night and posting pictures using the name Wasco Clown.
According to local citizen Noah Sanchez: "Some of the residents go in cars searching for him. They have flashlights and try to spot him in neighborhoods after he posts to Twitter."
Some believe there’s more than one person behind the appearances because some of the costumes are different.
One child claimed that they were chased through the streets by one carrying an axe but that couldn't be substantiated.
That hasn’t been substantiated, but local citizens have been driving around, or congregating where it is rumored that the clown might make an appearance.
Other reports have been called in to the Kern County Sheriff’s Department about a clown committing crimes, however these are also unverified.
A costumed minor has been arrested for chasing some younger kids around. He claims he was only imitating the Wasco Clown.
