Japanese comedian, artist and film maker Takeshi Kitano, also known as Beat Takeshi, unveiled his waxwork at Madame Tussauds which had a rather unusual squatting pose.

Despite being known outside of Japan as an arthouse film maker, the comedian is known within Japan for pulling this pose as part of his act.

SOUNDBITE Japanese comedian and film maker, Takeshi Kitano, saying (Japanese):

"It's definitely an honour but it is a bit embarrassing to think that even if I die that this statue will still be here and doing this pose."

If that wasn't painful enough, Kitano also had to pose for 7 hours during production of the model. The waxwork is now on show at Madame Tussauds in Tokyo for visitors to squat alongside.
