Shooting inside Canadian parliament, one suspect reported dead

A frantic scene inside the main building of Ottawa's Parliament Hill ... Reports say at least 30 shots were fired, and a gunman is said to have been shot dead inside.

Police and tactical teams have secured the area, and Parliament is in lockdown.

This, after a soldier was reportedly shot and wounded at the Canadian War Memorial nearby.

Media and eyewitness reports say the shooter was then chased by police into the main parliament building -- called Centre Block -- where the shots were fired.

Member of Parliament John McKay was inside the building when the drama began.
