Japanese Company Has Models Deliver Lunch

Tokyo-based Platinum Lunch has models and actresses deliver lunches to corporate clients.

When it comes time for lunch during the workday, most people don't think much of it. But a company in Japan has decided to make lunchtime deliveries much more interesting.

Instead of having a delivery person come and simply drop off your order, now an attractive model or actress performs the task.

Not only do the women deliver the food, they're also trained to be polite and converse with customers.

Based in Tokyo, Platinum Lunch provides dishes from local restaurants for corporations' meetings, events and seminars.

The bento-box delivery service accommodates three central locations in the city.

A spokesperson for the company added, "We used to provide lunch delivery services, but those were done by men, and we sometimes received complaints saying they didn't have the right manner and never engaged with the customers."

Each order must meet the minimum of 30 thousand Japanese Yen or roughly $260, and has to be placed at least three days in advance. This is so the woman bringing the food can learn what ingredients are used in the meal and explain them to her customers.

The models and actresses are signed to the talent agency Platinum Production.

Along with the minimum order requirement, a 10% delivery and service charge is also added to each bill.

More than a dozen restaurants so far, including some Michelin-starred, are on Platinum Lunches' roster.
