National Cathedral hosts its first Muslim Friday prayers

Under the vaulted ceilings of the Washington National Cathedral, an unfamiliar recitation echoes.

For the first time ever, Muslims filled the Episcopal cathedral for Muslim Friday prayers.

Those who attended, embraced the opportunity.

"I think it's a great experience. I've lived in this area all my life and to really feel like I'm part of this community."

"I feel very, very strong feeling coming here and pray to my God. He's the one who's the creator, so it's good to pray here with other people too."

Inside, the Cathedral's Reverend Canon Gina Campbell welcomed her new congregation.
