TV9 Filmy: Kannada Actor Yash Turned Singer for 'Mr & Mrs Ramachari...,

Though many actors in Sandalwood are turning out to be good singers, Yash has ended up being quite a surprise. The actor who has rendered a song for the first time for his own film Mr and Mrs Ramachari, turned to singing quite by chance. “I was coaxed for almost two months by my director Santhosh Ananddram who thought that I would do justice to this particular song, whose lyrics are written by Yogaraj Bhat, and I finally had to agree,” he says.

The makers of the film felt that Yash’s voice was perfect for this song because it expresses pain and carries a popular word ann thama (brother), which is a meaningful expression among the youth. For Yash to actually sing this song would mean that he could reach out to all his fans not only through his acting but also through his voice.

Yash says, “We were looking for a parallel word in Kannada for Machcha, which means brother in Tamil and we came up with ann thama which was first used in my film Kirataka. Later, the word became a huge hit among people in Mysuru and Mandya. People of North Karnataka started addressing me by that name. The word was later used in my other film Raja Hulli and is now featuring in the song for Mr and Mrs Ramachari.”
