Kurds 'light up the battlefield' against ISIL

Kurdish Peshmerga fighters are lighting-up the battlefield to protect themselves from night attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Employing a tactic used by the US in Vietnam, the Peshmerga are using floodlights to identify approaching ISIL fighters who use the cover of darkness to sneak up on Peshmerga positions.
