Items formerly owned by Elvis Presley are common sights at auctions. However, Julien’s Auctions has two offerings that are far different than the norm.

Bidders will soon have the opportunity to purchase two of Elvis’ private planes. Named the ‘Hound Dog II’ and the ‘Lisa Marie’, the aircrafts will be sold together as a pair.

Personnel from the auction house suspect they’ll sell from anywhere between 10 and 15 million dollars. For the past three decades the planes have been on exhibit at Graceland.

Both of them were designed by the rock and roll singer. In April of 1975, he spent 250 grand and bought the Convair 880 from Delta Airlines. He shelled out hundreds of thousands more to refurbish the aircraft and named it the ‘Lisa Marie’ after his daughter.

The plane is painted red, white and blue and includes a penthouse, a videotape system and an upscale lavatory with gold faucets. The Lockheed JetStar, which Elvis later named the ‘Hound Dog II’ was purchased that same year while he was waiting for work on the other plane to be complete.

The singer reportedly paid around 900,000 dollars for it. Julien’s Auctions will be accepting sealed bids for the planes until February 2nd.

Neither aircraft is currently airworthy, and the buyer will reportedly have the opportunity to purchase land next to Graceland to display the beauties.
