Star Wars Battle Pod by Bandai Namco Amusements - Preview - Arcade Heroes

http://arcadeheroes.com - Checking out the new Star Wars Battle Pod as seen at the 2014 IAAPA Trade Show held in Orlando, FL in November 2014. This marked the first time Bandai Namco had shown the game with the unique "Vader's Revenge" level, which is a concept they developed with Lucasarts where you pilot as Darth Vader to stop the rebels from capturing the Death Star's SuperLaser following the explosion of the Death Star I.
Otherwise the levels follow the iconic battles seen in A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi. There was no interest in recreating any battles from the prequels. I interviewed the game's producer which you can find on my website.
If you have come across Namco's other dome screen arcade game, Mach Storm, then you have a good idea of how it plays as the two are very similar - it is an on-rails shooter that is very fast paced.
This game launched first at all Dave & Buster's locations with the worldwide rollout starting in March 2015. It is a very expensive game (around $30k) so not many 'mom-and-pop' type locations will be grabbing one anytime soon.
