On 10 November 1985 the enormous volume of water broke the dam, and inundated much of the town . The villa disappeared. By 1986, the town was 4 mts. underwater, arriving in 1993 to over 10 mts.
Currently the water, highly saline, went back significantly, exposing much of the town. Are still visible the layout of the streets, the houses, the dam and businesses. However abound dead trees ruined buildings and rusting vehicles .
