Winter Splitter Granite in Chamonix, Versant Satanique: The Daley Spitter Ep. 3
Description: The winter freeride season lasted two months this year in Chamonix. After almost two months of non-stop snowing in Chamonix it finally cleared and went full on tropical. High winds hammered north slopes while summer temps melted out southerly aspects of many big lines. After almost three weeks of sun and struggling to find good snow to shred, we decided to go rock climbing. It proved to be one of the best decisions I've made recently. Snowboarding down into the Argentiere Basin, we toured up to the base of the Minaret and climbed Versant Satanique, 6c, grade II, 690 meters. The route was completely dry and we got to shred all the way back down to the parking lot.
