There is no mourning in Islam. If someone has died or been martyred, we rejoice that they have rejoined God

Someone has died, no dancing, please.’ ‘There has been an explosion there, so no dancing, please.’ ‘Someone has died in Iraq,’ so no dancing please.’ Death happens every day. Not a day goes by without someone dying. Life goes on. Mourning has no place in Islam. If someone has died, we rejoice that, insha’Allah, they have gone to paradise. If they have been martyred, we in any case rejoice at that. Mourning is an idolatrous custom left over from ancient Egypt. It is a custom left over from the ancient Sumerians. It is the name given to a ceremony that rebels against God. It is a sin for a Muslim to mourn. It is unacceptable. People die every day. There are acts of terror everywhere every day. There are bombings in America and here and there. Muslims are killed every day. Then their funerals are held the next day. You say, ‘Why are you listening to music before he is even buried?’ Not a day goes by. They can tell me if one ever does
