Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Magic 2014: Duels of the Planeswalkers for PC developed by Stainless Games and published by Wizards of the Coast.
Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers, much like the last several versions available for PC and various consoles, might seem at first glance to just be an annual rehash of the same concept; the nerdy equivalent of a Madden roster update. Heck, I even copied that last sentence from the Magic 2014 review. But 2015 represents a significant change to the mix... unfortunately, that significant change means a lot of the things you liked about the previous iterations went away, like Planechase or Sealed modes. What do you get in return? Um... tablet-optimized controls? And a profound lack of clutter. (On-screen, anyway.)
