Kidnapped for ransom: California police, FBI searching for missing woman Denise Huskins of Vallejo

The FBI is searching for a 30-year-old woman who disappeared from her home in Vallejo, California, early Monday morning.

Vallejo police said Denise Huskins was taken for ransom, though they have not specified how much the abductor is asking for.

As of Tuesday afternoon, police had not named any suspects. They did not explain why they are calling the abduction a hostage situation.

Around 2:00 p.m., an unidentified man called Vallejo police to report Huskins's disappearance. Police did not immediately disclose why the man -- who may have witnessed the abduction -- waited so long to report it.

Police have reportedly found Huskins's 2000 Toyota Camry in an undisclosed location.

Neighbors told local news stations there had been recent reports of a peeping Tom, but that the man may have moved away.

The Vallejo Police Department has asked anyone with information to call 707-648-4524.

Huskins reportedly works as a physical therapist at the Kaiser Vallejo Hospital.
