Tricking police fail: Meth addict thief tries to outsmart cops by pretending to be sleeping hobo

A Houston burglar's attempt to fool local police by pretending to be a sleeping hobo after ransacking a pawnshop didn't go quite as planned.

The heist happened around 2 a.m. this past Thursday at a local pawn shop, according to Houston police.

Surveillance video captured Shea Fellion, walking through the aisles of R&R Jewelry and Loan before going on to steal three laptops.

After an alarm was tripped and police were contacted, officers arrived to find the suspect next to the store and lying "asleep" under a banana tree.

TomoNews asked local business owner Catherine Duwez of Cafe Brussels about the incident who said Fellion had previously robbed her restaurant at least five times in the last three years.

The breast cancer survivor mentioned that Fellion had even stolen her car battery, that is, on top of the wine cases, computers, and cash he had taken.

Despite his arrest, local small business owners fear that Fellion will likely be out in no time and up to his old habits again.
